A healthier snacking highly invested in team culture
PROPER is a Stage 6 brand best known for their PROPERCORN and PROPERCHIPS. They are listed across all major retailers and have a significant international presence. With a team of more than 40 people and a culture of high performance, providing the right support by way of training and learning is important to the leadership – to make everyone the best they can possibly be.
Data analysis tasks taking far too long
During an advisory discussion with the company we unpicked a big objective to grow efficiency within team members, especially within the sales and supply chain teams. With a large proportion of their roles involving the analysis of data (from EPOS, to wholesaler sales, to production, to demand planning), the more efficiently they could do that, the more productive each employee would become. At the same time, the managers had heard a number of employees wanting to get better at Excel so they could focus less time on their admin tasks.
A bespoke private training programme
The PROPER team worked closely with our training team to design a fit-for-purpose private Excel training course, tailored to their specific needs. Over 5 weeks, their team were trained in skills like VLOOKUP and pivot tables, and techniques to gain efficiency when using Excel.

Based on a pre and post training questionnaire, we estimate that the team would have gained more than 25% efficiency, thereby paying back the cost of the course in just over 5 weeks and delivering a Y1 ROI of 9x. As importantly the team felt invested in and excited about something they really struggled with before.
